If you struggle to leave your home without help due to a physical or mental disability then you may qualify for a free NHS funded eye test in the comfort of your home.

Our Glasses

We provide prescription glasses and sunglasses that can ordered from the comfort your home.  Our opticians will visit you with a selection of frames to make sure they are fitted by an expert.

Check if you are eligible for NHS funding

NHS Funded Eye Test

We provide sight tests at home for those that struggle to attend an opticians without help due to a physical or mental disability. You will qualify for a free NHS funded sight test at home for one of the reasons below.
  • Age 60 or over
  • ​Registered blind or partially sighted
  • ​Diagnosed with diabetes or glaucoma
  • ​Considered to be at risk of glaucoma, as advised by an optician
  • ​Aged 40 or over and your mother, father, brother, sister, son or daughter has been diagnosed with glaucoma
  • ​Receiving Income Support, Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income-related Employment and Support Allowance or Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
  • ​Entitled to, or named on, a valid NHS tax credit exemption certificate
  • ​On a low income and named on a valid HC2 (full help) or HC3 (partial help) certificate
  • ​Eligible for an NHS Complex Lens Voucher (our optician will advise on the entitlement)

NHS Optical Voucher

A person qualifies for a NHS optical voucher for the following reasons below.
  • Are eligible for an NHS complex lens voucher
  • ​Receive Income Support
  • ​Receive Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (not Contribution-based)
  • ​Receive Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
  • ​Receive Income-based Employment and Support Allowance (not Contribution)
  • ​Are entitled to, or named on, a valid NHS tax credit exemption certificate
  • ​Are named on a valid NHS Certificate for full help with health costs (HC2)

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I just purchase glasses, if I have had an eye test already.

Yes, so long as the eye test was done recently, then we can supply you with prescription glasses.   However, we generally advise that if your current prescription is over 6 months old, then it is best to have a new eye test done so that any possible changes in your vision can be allowed for.

How long does it take to receive glasses

After the eye test has be done, we try to deliver glasses 2-3 weeks after being ordered.

Do I qualify for an eye test at home

If you struggle to attend an opticians without help, then you may qualify for an eye test at home.  To find out the criteria call 02045403933

Can i be tested at home if I am a carer or partner

Unless, you struggle with attending an opticians without help, you will not qualify for an NHS funded eye test.  However, we will be happy to arrange a private eye test at home for you.  The fee for a private eye test at home is £45.
